Del is that true?

If so that's kind of awkward since auto download won't download the extra file.

Re: ut4_oaks_b2

As long as servers having it and clients not having it, or clients having it and servers not having it doesn't cause any problems then it's ok. I guess all that will happen is that non-bumpy players will never see it, and... they don't get kicked off the server for impure do they (when the server ha...

Re: Precipitation question

enablePrecip is likely just an integer, not some kind of bitwise thing. Less than 1 equals off, 1 equals rain, greater than 1 equals snow (Most likely, you could test).

Re: ut4_oaks_b2

If you run bumpy client and you don't have the bumpy files on your client, what happens?

Re: CMM - stamp of quality for maps

I think you should reconsider this idea. I'm not saying you shouldn't do it, but you should do it wisely and carefully. First of all, many of the things you listed to be checked should honestly be done in a computer program, not by humans. You could (find someone to) write a computer program similar...

Re: ut4_oaks_b2

I wonder if not having the bumpy files and running the bumpy client causes poorer performance. Because pnk|Cham and fn|Champ (no relation lol) both were getting 40 and below FPS while doing this, and really bad fps drops that were causing them black bars and unplayability. Now it could be if they ha...

Oh ok. I mean when I saw those seals I was getting the sense that you meant like slapping those on the loading screens or something lol

Re: ut4_oaks_b2

Admittedly Cham has a slower older cpu. But he says he does not experience the drops in other standard competition maps. If it makes you feel any better, Poland is completely unplayable for him (insane fps drops).

Re: CMM - stamp of quality for maps

Rayne, Johnny is talking about a technical 'map validator' to check that there are no obvious technical errors. So the idea of a "gameplay - appearance - performance" certification would be a separate one. My opinion is that a certification like that would be a lot of work, as well as very...
