If I have a room with two exits, one with a door and one with an open archway, should I:
1. areaportal the door and clusterportal the archway
2. clusterportal both, or
3. do something else?

A screenshoot of the setup would be nice :)

I am describing something quite basic here. No windows, stairs, or other complications of any kind are present. Just two ways into a simple room, one with a door that can open and close and one without a door.

Is it s 90 degree coridor linking it or?

A screenshoot of the layup would help much really.

If it is a small map you dont really need to do anything.

OK, I created a small example to illustrate the question. Just pretend that the tiny rooms to the north and west are large complex regions beyond the example room.

The way I read the description for areaportals, it sounds like they go inside a door and function like a hint when the door is closed and like a clusterportal when the door is open. Is this correct?

I have found that areaportals are treated as clusterportals, so areaportal the door and clusterportal the archway is the correct answer.
