Diagonals and cylinders.

Post by RageQuit »

While trying to get the basic floor plan together for a map I am starting, I ran into a problem with Radiant and diagonal surfaces. I was wondering if anyone happens to know any tricks to get around these limitations. My problem is that I am trying to make a map that is basically two big rectangles that are at something like a 150 degree angle. The problem comes when I try to do things like build walls or even seal the floor, the brushes still move along the grid, and it is impossible to get them flush.

I'm kind of tired, and my girlfriend is getting impatient with me, so my explanation is kinda bad, and if needed I will go into more depth.

And I figure while I am here I may as well try to find out what the hell is up with cylinders in radiant. Is there some sort of trick to getting them to work?

what is your problem with those cylinders? i dont realy understand it.
btw: cylinders and patches are onesideonly, that means that you can see them just from one side.
to create a cylinder, create a brush with the high and the wide from the cylinder and select that brush. than click on "Curve" and then on "cylinder"
for a big tree, you need a small axe.
