Welcome to CMM

The CMM forum software was recently upgraded, some things may have changed and some things may be broken or not working. Please let me know by PM or on IRC if you have any problems using this forum.

Also, I've removed the skybox and shader links for now, the shader generator page was being abused and as we're moving towards a ue4 mapping base, they're redundant.

Model not receiving shadows

Postby xandaxs » Sun Jan 06, 2013 10:25 pm

hey guys!

I'm using this model on my map but it isn't receiving shadows, it's all lighted up.
_receiveshadows is by default set to 1, so it should be working. Anything I can do?

You're vertex lighting it, you don't need _receiveshadows key for it to receive them. Vertex lighting is buggy, i often have issues with vertex lit models being fully lit up, so add spawnflags keyword and value of 4, that will lightmap it. Since it mostly flat surfaces it will probably look good, to be on the safe side add _lightmapscale .250 or .125.
It's just one model so it wont affect performance at all.
