Welcome to CMM

The CMM forum software was recently upgraded, some things may have changed and some things may be broken or not working. Please let me know by PM or on IRC if you have any problems using this forum.

Also, I've removed the skybox and shader links for now, the shader generator page was being abused and as we're moving towards a ue4 mapping base, they're redundant.

Have you read about the plans of epic to develop Unreal Tournament 2014 with the community for free?

That's actually great news for FS as we can "borrow" tons of stuff from the work they do and a level editor for third party members might be one of the features we won't have to worry about ourselves :)
Have a happy day! :)

3rd party map inclusion has always been left up to the game developer to allow or disallow as part of their game design and as far as that goes it's business as usual.

The good news moving to UE4 is the tools are there, granted it does cost out of pocket, but the “free” editor as to map inclusion into our game is something that we would have to be responsible for if it comes down to it at the time of release and I can reassure that it is on top of the list of things to do.

In hindsight the jump to UE4 would have been much easier if Urban Terror was built on the Unreal platform that would have made the transaction much easier but with the reboot of Unreal Tournament is an opportunity to slide in under their development cycle much the same way if id did a Q3 reboot.

This is the huge selling point of UE4 in that it is modular in design so “anything” made available in Unreal Tournament we are free to use as part of the subscriber base so assuming that Epic will included the editor we can make UrT-HD parse UT maps and the same maps that works in UT will also work in Urban Terror.

Our view is a map is a map and 3rd parties should have the right and ability to promote their maps into any game they wish that supports the UE4 framework and not just ours.
