One nem for the N; One NEM for the E and one nem for the m

Post by nemNEMnem »

Finaly i am logged in from my PC, upgraded now with 3,4 GHz (Amd Phenom II x4 quadcore); 4 GB Ram, new motherboard and an fucking awesome new Housing:Image

that mean's i am back and working on Parlon, a city map over 3(or4) levels; full-selfmade textures (all 512x512, cause 1024 is too big for a normal map i think) and yeah, hi out there

You can use 1024 texture for diffuse map and 512 for normal map i think :) What video card sits in this beast?

It's a AMD Radeon HD 6850.
I think i didnt sayd it correctly, i dont mean the "normal map", i mean an "usual" map, not a big thing or so...

1024 is definitely NOT big for a texture, in fact i strongly advise you to use 1024 textures on larger surfaces.
radeon hd 6850 is a great card with i think 1 GB of DDR5, so it has more than enough VRAM, you wont feel any difference at all between a 512 and a 1024, i don't feel it on my old GTS 250 card, so you shouldn't either.
Is it a dual bios version or the standard 6850.

Yeah first referent dual bios versions that can switch between 6850 and 6870 bios versions are hard to find now.
Shame but it can still be overclocked to 6870 level so you only lose extra shaders so no big deal. Still an awesome card for fairly reasonable amount of money.

yes, it,s a good card, but i have the sapphire and the cooler is very loud at 100% :)

I don't want to play arround with the bios cause i like it how it is, and if i switch to 6870 i have to remove all the nividia crap first :D
