Hey there, ive just started mapping with gtk 1.6 recently after a few years working with worldcraft, and for my first actual map (meant for UrT) id like to create a "Burton-esque" town, modeled after some of his work in both the Nightmare Before Christmas and the Corpse Bride. However, after doing some sloppy brushwork to create these models, i realized i need help!
First, i need some buildings-
One especially is this tower/observatory

And another is the town hall seen in this picture (lopsided building with clock and columns)

Last specific model is this fountain (i wouldnt expect anything near this exact for free, any help would be great!)

I realize some may be difficult but really anything, however lacking in detail, would be nice. Thank you all so much for any help (even none haha) you can give me. Hopefully ill be able to post my future work and get some feedback for improvement! If you do happen to post anything i could use, id definitely include you in the map ReadMe. Thanks again!

Re: Various Models Needed!
Good luck getting someone to model these for you. these look quite complex for UrT, you'd be best going without them.

Well look here- http://www.mediafire.com/?qkiu824sdvehine
I made that in Gtk 1.6 in about 2 minutes, only problem is that it creates a hella-lot of polygons that the engine gets frustrated with (especially if you use subtract to dispose of intersections). If you check it out (it's in prefab form), its nothing crazy complex. I would just want a renderable outline more than anything
For example, the tower could just be a partial sphere on a cone. But since i cant model for my life, i try to build it in Gtk, which cant compile intersecting brushes or bad mesh work. I realize the fountain would be hard, and dont really expect anyone to be that generous, but the other two could be made pretty simple if you cut down on brush detail and let textures do the work (e.g. the columns for the town hall building)

you'd actually be learning a lot more if you did them by yourself!

I know haha i know! I saw the request area and just thought someone could help. Maybe even just tell me how to construct something like what i already made (in previous post), except so the engine can render it without giving me errors? I know you people here are talented, so honestly, hit me with whatever advice (or models if im lucky haha) you can!

Re: Various Models Needed!
Best advice i can give you is to keep trying!
It is only by trying, making mistakes and re-tryign that you'll be able to make it someday. Althoguh I'd recommend you to use a modelling program.
Don't forget that URT HD renders a lot better than 4.1

Re: Various Models Needed!
Well, i suppose i should move on from quake modding and gather some new skill sets oye ah well... what modeling program do you recommend to a new modeler? Also, if it has native .md3 exportation, that would be fantastic, leaves less room for me to screw something up. I appreciate your encouragement and advice xandaxs. Haha still, anyone that could literally just merge a sphere to a half-cone (like my tower "model"), without any detail- i would be very grateful. Its really just a matter of avoiding intersecting brushes, in which case i use a subtract tool, which then creates more problems than i had initially haha... Any suggestions there? It seems theres no way to avoid complex geometry when carving up a sphere :/

Re: Various Models Needed!
Definitely liking the simplicity of Misfit, thanks man. Is it ok if models have intersecting "planes" or brushes? Will the engine still render them fine and everything? Im not a lazy mapper, but when it comes to modeling-esque things... my sanity takes a trip to hell haha

Re: Various Models Needed!
AFAIK it doesn't matters what kind of a mess it is on the inside, the outside part matters since that one is being rendered.
Intersecting planes aren't an issue, not even with radiant brushes. 2 faces that exist on same x, y, z coordinates, now that's a problem. That you have to avoid since it causes flickering textures.
