If you are going to learn python, this might be nice to have a look at -> http://inventwithpython.com/

“Invent Your Own Computer Games with Python” is a free book (as in, open source) and a free eBook (as in, no cost to download) that teaches you how to program in the Python programming language. Each chapter gives you the complete source code for a new game, and then teaches the programming concepts from the example.

“Invent with Python” was written to be understandable by kids as young as 10 to 12 years old, although it is great for anyone of any age who has never programmed before.
From http://inventwithpython.com/

I know you guys are good programmers. But a book giving you a new game in each chapter then telling you how it works does sound fun xD

Anyways, I'm waiting to be wow'ed by this map John. GL :-)

Just an update on this map.

Ecirbaf has been making 1000s of models - I've been trying to work out how to locate a lot of scenery into the skybox

Like the water line in the video

...under the map and I've also added the last part of the map.

There's a ton of detailing and tidying up to do but I'm really enjoying working on this map with ecirbaf.

I added a bit of a crappy video this weekend, it shows how totally unfinished the map is and also includes a few bumper cars (I wondered if I could make bumper cars)

At this very moment i don't like how it looks that much.
I know it'll come out impressively well done and great looking, but you rushed a bit into making a video...

Your map isn't halfway done, but i can see you're so happy with it you had to show the world :)

I am I am lol

I just made the video so ecirbaf could see what I'd done to his work - butchered it mainly. I only posted the video here because I mentioned the map in the bus stop topic.

I am now taking my time -- and not releasing until I'm happy.

I think that lack of shade, it's my next goal and then I would do a green version to vary the color. And after I make a fountain, and after I drink a beer :D
