ut4_Mongolia (Still a long way away)

Post by banksy »

Hi guys, I'm rather new to the world of mapping, but after some minor projects, I have decided to begin a much larger one, which follows the theme of Mongolia, though there is still much more research and preparation to do.
Here's what I've done so far.

Hope you like it :D

Looks nice so far. Did you work out how to do the shaders?

Though, I don't know how to test my map on mac, so I can't see if it works. Any suggestions?

Do you have irc? It's usually the quickest way to get an answer.

For testing, this might help - read this page from rambetter

Seperate mapping from playing and testing

and at the end of this there is a section on making and testing a map, also shaders are explained

Making first map

oh, and another thing. All my textures for radiant are in UrbanTerror/baseq3/Textures, and its the same for shaders, except they are in UrbanTerror/baseq3/scripts.
Is this ok? as I see most people have these folders in q3ut4

urt uses q3ut4 you should change base folder and get everything there really. If you want to be able to test from the parts in your mappingfolder and not have to pack up the map to see if you corrected the lights right and so on.
