Ok so someone suggested I record the progress of making a map, the idea being that the videos could be joined together and speeded up, so I started doing this on Monday with a new knockout map.
The videos have no sound, the fans on my laptop seem to be making a lot of noise so I removed it.
The videos are pretty boring but do show pretty much the whole process of building a map from start.
So I put them here in their full form.
I've only been working on this for 5 days and it's not quite finished, but close.
Also, this isn't a tutorial, it's how I make maps (quickly)
Part 1: The floors
Part 2: Starting to add walls
Part 3: More wall
Part 4: Finish walls, add sky, add _skybox
Part 5: Making some model wall paintings
Here's the current progress

Re: Australian themed ko mini map construction
I've about finished this, took around 6 days, still needs a little detailing but it's the funniest map I've ever made and I'll extend it into a fuller size map later.

Johnny, you may have been asked this many times but I have to ask, do you enjoy using Linux? Have you used Windows or Mac before Linux? I'm very interested in the O/S. Is Radiant stable on Linux?
And the videos are great by the way. I like how you don't waste time in the videos.

Re: Australian themed ko mini map construction
I have windows 7 installed as well, dual boot. Sometimes, like once every month I use windows for 20 minutes, hate it and reboot into linux.
I use mac at work but mostly as a radio (www.di.fm)
Radiant is exceptionally stable in Linux, it's crashed twice in 3 years, usually after using one of the plugins. I can run some windows applications like 3dsmax7 in linux (under wine, performs better that under windows).

Whoa, that's great. Radiant 1.6 crashes on me constantly. What version of Linux are you using?
